Hey, so it's been a while! I never really plan for these hiatuses, but School's decided to kick my ass this year already and I got a second job so work got pretty crazy! I haven't had time really to play anything for a while and do the write ups like I normally would so please take this fun little post for now!
One Night Stand is an interactive, visual novel created by Kinmoku and originally released in 2016. It follows the various storylines of the morning after a one night stand. As usual, I only read the Itch.io page for the game and, while giving a good idea on the basic premise and storyline, I absorbed absolutly none of it because the visuals are just so soft and cute and I wanted to start already.

Sticking to my general rules on playtime, I made my way through one complete storyline that began with waking up with what's sure to be a terrible hangover in a bedroom that looks to belong to a college student. The screen is vague and blurry and there's an all-too-familiar buzzing happening somewhere nearby.
Now, I'm not too sure what the protocals are when you're the first one to wake up in this situation when you don't actually remember where you are, cause that's definitly not a very safe way to go about things, but I chose the option of going back to sleep instead of snooping around quite yet. Cause, you know, sleep is important.
Upon waking up again, we're alone in bed after our companions makes a comically hasty exit. This is where things start to pick up after the general plot and confusion plays through. Now, I'm a very curious person by nature and will usually snoop if given the opportunity to so the game giving you the option of where to look through first and what things to focus on was very fun.

The thing I was not expecting was being a man.
I don't know what it was about the game or my own thought process but it did not register to me that MC would be a man until the mirror scene. Like, have I been wearing my Gay Agenda Glasses for too long or something? The thought never presented until that moment. I don't know what I was expecting to appear when looking in the mirror but I can garuntee it was not that.
Moving along, we find a lot of fun little tidbits of information, like textbook collections and concert tickets and a picture of our companion and her brother. Each choosable option has little reactions and speculations attached and it's really fun just going about the room and looking at everything to see what the thought bubbles say.

Everything's going rather swimmingly, then our companion returns!
The conversation MC and her have is more then a little awkward at first but then again, I'm sure it's not the comfiest situation to be in. Add in the fact that MC doesn't actually remember the night before when the two met and has to piece it together through clues in his clothing and phone just makes the whole thing all the more awkward.
I chose the dialouge option that came clean and explained not remembering anything and
over coffee the two characters do end up talking about what went on the night before. It's honestly a really sweet turn of events? Like, I was not expecting all the warm and fuzzy feelings this game elicited?
In the end, the two part on good terms, she walks MC to the door, and you get to the end screen. It's a very sweet run of the game and I'm honestly very interested to know if all the storylines are like this or if it differs a lot between the different charcters. This is definitly a game I'm going to have to revisit later, especially cause that screen has TWELVE spaces in it and I need to know if there's twelve different runs you can do.

Okay, that's enough from me, I need to sleep now.
Happy dreams!
